Mariëtte van de Water
Ever since I was little, I was always building and creating things together with my sister, like treehouses and more. So after high school I decided that I wanted to become an architect so I could use my creativity to create.
At the end of 2015 I graduated from the University of Technology, Eindhoven. Where I followed a double master in Architecture, Building and planning combined with Computational Design. After working for another architecture office I got the opportunity to work for Studio Acht, and that was when I decided to go for the adventure and fly across the ocean to work here in Curacao. Working in Curacao brings different challenges to the table in comparison with the Netherlands. This results in different opportunities in the architectural process.
One of the best parts of architecture is the diversity of work. You work on projects of different scales, from small houses to large masterplans. As an Architect you can create something that lasts for many years. Every time the process is different and the outcome also, that makes this work very diverse and very exciting. There is never a dull moment, everyday new challenges come up. At the start of a project you never know the outcome. Together with the team you are able to create amazing projects.
